Today is our 10th wedding anniversary! (see footnote) Our first major milestone. I remember the day vividly, it was a gorgeous San Diego day and we were on the exact same earth that we had first seen each other. We were up at a place that I used to call home; Station 72 Valley Center Fire Department.
We had met there almost exactly 3 years ‘to the day’ before and we were both in the same place, together, getting married. We met at that “Pancake Breakfast / Safety Expo” that my department had put on for a few years. I remember when I first saw Marcy…
Her Smile was infectious, the second I saw her smile I was intrigued. I met her and we only talked for about 30 minutes before I asked her what she was doing that evening.
Lucky for me I have a good friend named Paul Corser. He was dating a girl named Tracy that had recently moved to San Diego and she happened to be good friends with Marcy. He (Paul) had hung out with Marcy and Tracy (Marcy was just in town visiting from Phoenix) the day before and he had told them that tomorrow “we are going to see my friend (ME!) and go the his ‘Pancake Breakfast’” From what I understand neither of them wanted to go but he made them get ready so he could go. I owe Paul…
We went out that evening and almost the next day she flew back to Arizona. We had exchanged phone numbers….
The rest is history…

Footnote; Marcy and I were married twice in October. October 3rd represents our civil (Fire Station) wedding. We were married again in Mexico on the 17th of the same month with the Greatest Catholic Priest EVER, Father Jeff Newell.
